SIM Conference
SIM Conference (Startups & Investment Matching) is an event that seeks to foster connections between startups, entrepreneurs and investors, providing a space for knowledge sharing and networking. Focused on generating connection opportunities through carefully selected content, SIM Conference is a unique experience for founders and investors to establish meaningful connections.
The city of Porto will host the first edition of the SIM Conference (Startups & Investment Matching), which promises to be a transformative event for the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Portugal. Powered by Startup Portugal, the event will showcase the best of the Portuguese ecosystem and discuss the most pertinent topics for startup founders and investors in Europe.
The conference, which runs from May 2 to 4 at the Alfândega do Porto Congress Center, will bring together startups, investors and leaders of the entrepreneurial industry, with the aim of matching entrepreneurs, startups and investors (national and international). Porto was the city chosen for the first edition of this conference, having shown a vibrant dynamic and being a region that is home to some of the most relevant startups in the ecosystem.
Startups and investors come together to boost the entrepreneurial ecosystem at international conference
The event will consist of three distinct spaces: SIM – Connect, a space dedicated to networking, facilitating meaningful connections between participants; SIM – Learn, will focus on talks and workshops led by industry influencers, offering valuable insights and innovative perspectives; and finally, SIM – Showcase, a place where startups can demonstrate their strengths, providing visibility and opportunities for collaboration.
Confirmed participants include Mike Sigal (Sigal Ventures), investor and founding General Partner of the 500 Startups Fintech Fund; Cristina Fonseca (Indico), founder of one of Portugal’s unicorns and investor; Sean Seton-Rogers (PROfounders Capital); Marcelo Lebre, president and co-founder of the unicorn Remote; and Luther Lowe, Head of Public Policy at Y Combinator. In addition to these, other internationally renowned speakers have already been announced on the conference website, and new names will be announced in the coming weeks.
The SIM Conference already has the support of Porto City Council (City Host), Google (Gold Sponsor), PwC (Silver Sponsor) and Beta-i (Partner), as well as the High Sponsorship of the Presidency of the Republic. Additional sponsors will be announced over the coming months.
