Tech Foundry Portugal - Deep Tech Edition is a national acceleration and co-investment program for deep tech startups to develop, validate, and industrialise breakthrough technologies. This program was launched with the Public Call "IFIC Deep Tech".

Empowering science-based startups to grow faster.

  This call sits under IFIC — Innovation & Competitiveness Financial Instrument (PRR C05-i14.01 “Business Innovation”), managed by Banco Português de Fomento (BPF). The acceleration program is coordinated by Startup Portugal. ANI validates the Deep Tech nature of applicants (certification is required for selection).

At a glance

  • Total allocation: €15M (IFIC Deep Tech call)
  • Startup ticket: up to €750,000 in equity or quasi-equity, co-invested with private investors (≥30% private share)
  • Acceleration: 3-month program (mentoring, workshops, investor sessions, Demo Day) coordinated by Startup Portugal

What the program offers

🚀 Acceleration Program
A 3-month program developed by Startup Portugal and international partners, designed to help deep tech startups move from research to market. Includes technical mentoring, workshops, investor sessions, and a Demo Day with VCs and industrial partners.

💶 Equity or Quasi-Equity Financing
Startups can access up to €750,000 in co-investment with private investors (minimum 30% private share), managed by Banco Português de Fomento under the PRR framework.

What's new?

  • Following the conclusion of Phase I, IFIC Deep Tech is now in Phase II, continuing to support equity investment in deep tech startups under the PRR, managed by Banco Português de Fomento, with ANI certification and acceleration by Startup Portugal.
