Podcasts for Entrepreneurs

Now that we’re at home often, one of the ways we can enjoy our time is by listening to podcasts. As they are free, podcasts can be a great way to stay educated and informed or to escape reality. But above all, they are an excellent way to optimize our time, as we can listen to them while we do other tasks.

Now that we’re at home often, one of the ways we can enjoy our time is by listening to podcasts. As they are free, podcasts can be a great way to stay educated and informed or to escape reality. But above all, they are an excellent way to optimize our time, as we can listen to them while we do other tasks.

Since the pandemic was announced, the number of new podcasts has increased as well as the frequency of existing ones. This makes it more difficult to choose which one to listen to. At Startup Portugal, we took the time to share those that we think are worth hearing.

How I built this with Guy Raz – Guy Raz is famous in the entrepreneurial world. He produces and hosts this podcast in which he interviews, as he says, innovators, entrepreneurs and idealists and the movements they built. It all starts in the very beginning when they didn’t have a clue of what was their purpose in the world and from there they detail how they got their business idea, how it was implemented, the setbacks and how they reached success.

Business Casual

This podcast was created by the Morning Brew, an email-first media company. TechCrunch call them a daily business briefing built for millennials. This weekly podcast aims to keep us up to date to the constant changes in the world of business, by interviewing experts, thought leaders and CEO’s.

Masters of Scale with Reid Hoffman

If you want to acquire and develop the skills required to scale your business, this podcast is for you. Reid Hoffman is himself also an entrepreneur, who co-founded Linkedin and has now a VC firm. In each episode of this podcast, Reid introduces a theory on how successful businesses scale, and tests its validity by interviewing founders about their path to scale.

The Tim Ferriss Show

Who doesn’t know Tim Ferriss and who haven’t read “4-Hour Workweek”? Tim is an entrepreneur and writer and his podcast is one of the most listened in the business world. We couldn’t summarize his podcast better than him: “(In) each episode, I deconstruct world-class performers from eclectic areas (investing, sports, business, art, etc.) to extract the tactics, tools, and routines you can use. This includes favourite books, morning routines, exercise habits, time-management tricks, and much more.”

How to start a startup

This podcast should be listened to as a course. Created by Sam Altman and Y Combinator, one of the most well-known accelerators, it has 20 episodes with lessons from people as Peter Thiel, Alex Schultz and Reid Hoffman, explaining all the steps, since the idea, creating the team, building the product, how to raise money, etc.
