Doha Calling: 23 Portuguese startups at Web Summit Qatar

Doha, February 1 to 4, 2026
Web Summit Qatar returns to Doha from February 1 to 4, and Portugal will be on the ground with a delegation of 23 startups, supported by Startup Portugal and Unicorn Factory Lisboa.
Of the Portuguese startups attending, 5 are taking part through Business Abroad, Startup Portugal’s internationalization program that supports Portuguese startups at leading global tech and innovation events. The remaining startups are joining through the partnership with Unicorn Factory Lisboa or via independent registration.
Why Qatar, why now
This Portuguese presence at Web Summit Qatar is a strategic step to position national startups within one of the world’s most dynamic ecosystems for capital, technology, and international expansion. The Middle East continues to strengthen its role as a global innovation hub, attracting sovereign funds, venture capital, and major tech players, and creating real opportunities for companies with global ambition.
Business Abroad spotlight
The startups selected through Business Abroad have already raised a combined €13.5 million and employ more than 100 professionals. This year’s group also highlights a strong presence of projects focused on Healthtech and Wellness and Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
The startups supported through Business Abroad at Web Summit Qatar are:
- Complear – uses AI to automate software certification in critical sectors, among other services.
- Criamknowledge – develops portable medical devices using AI to automate blood diagnostics and enable fast, on-the-spot disease detection.
- sheerME – an app that helps customers find, book, and pay for beauty and wellness services, with cashback and additional benefits.
- Minve – a leading marketplace for buying, optimizing, and reselling businesses, especially designed for non-professional buyers.
- iTRecruiter – talent recruitment powered by AI and automation.
Continuity and what’s next
Startup Portugal has been building a consistent presence in Qatar’s ecosystem, including through a Memorandum of Understanding signed with Invest Qatar during Web Summit Qatar 2025, aimed at boosting investment and fostering business partnerships between both countries.
