Can Lah! Portuguese Startups at SWITCH Singapore

Singapore, October 27 to 29, 2026

Business Abroad is heading East. From October 27 to 29, eight Portuguese startups are taking part in SWITCH, the Singapore Week of Innovation and Technology, held at the Sands Expo & Convention Centre.

It is the first Startup Portugal delegation to Singapore, organised with the support of AICEP as part of the Business Abroad program, which supports the presence of Portuguese startups at major international technology and entrepreneurship events.

Why Singapore, why now

Singapore is one of Southeast Asia’s leading deep tech and innovation hubs, connecting startups with investors, multinational companies, and the wider Asian markets. For Portuguese startups, it is a gateway to a fast-growing region and a starting point for conversations that can extend to markets like South Korea and Japan.

This delegation brings together companies from Energy, Retail, Human Resources, Agrifood, Fintech, Health, and SaaS. Together, these startups employ 138 people and have raised more than €31 million in investment.

Portugal at SWITCH

The delegation’s home base is the Portugal Stand, hosted by AICEP at Booth M11, where startups will hold B2B meetings with potential partners, investors, and other relevant stakeholders throughout the event.

On October 27, the Ambassador of Portugal to Singapore and a member of the AICEP Board of Directors are expected to visit the stand to meet the startups. On October 28, AICEP and Startup Portugal will host the masterclass Portugal: A Leading European Startup Ecosystem, presenting the country’s business environment and opportunities for international collaboration and investment to the Singaporean ecosystem.

The agenda goes beyond the venue. The week started with an ecosystem visit to LaunchPad @ one-north, meeting players such as JTC, ACE.SG, A*StartCentral, and Hatch. Over the following days, the startups can join the EUREKA Investors Session and its 1:1 matchmaking meetings, as well as the Deep Tech Investor Forum and the Korean and Japanese Deep Tech Showcases hosted by ATUM Ventures.
