Testing the sands of Web Summit Qatar

The first Web Summit Qatar, taking place from February 26 to 29 at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center, will host 13 Portuguese startups with the support of Startup Portugal and Lisboa Unicorn Capital.

The 13 startups that make up the Portuguese delegation have already raised a total of more than 17 million euros in investment and are present in more than 14 countries.

Startup Portugal is taking eight Portuguese startups to Qatar as part of the Business Abroad program. Operating in strategic areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Fintech, Tourism, Sports and Human Resources, this initiative aims to open doors to new markets, especially in the Middle East. The delegation is made up of:

  • Enline – sensorless Digital Twin technology with advanced analytics and AI-driven algorithm to optimize the monitoring of power transmission assets, providing a seven-day forecast of operations and up to a year of predictive monitoring of vegetation and landslides. It also optimizes the design of renewable projects, improves energy efficiency and reduces losses and emissions.
  • The Carbon Games – a solution that allows companies and events to reduce commuting emissions and achieve CSR objectives in the process. It encourages employees/participants to take part in this sustainability challenge using a gamified carpooling solution and blockchain-based carbon trading.
  • Muro.art – streaming platform that transforms your space with personalized mood-enhancing digital art backed by neuroscience.

The startups selected for this delegation have the main objectives of reaching out to the Qatari market, prospecting new partners, expanding their network of contacts and building brand awareness, positioning themselves as innovative and competitive companies on the global stage.

In less than a decade, the 13 Portuguese startups, which will be present with Startup Portugal and Lisboa Unicorn Capital, have achieved international success, from Indonesia to the United Arab Emirates, expanding their operations to more than 14 countries.
